The mentioned video was shared on Facebook by the user named Bozkurtlar Diriliyor on August 2, 2018, captioned “One among the audience said ‘Allahu Akbar’. Trump’s face went pale.” This post was shared 932 times and viewed some 64 thousand times. The same video was shared by otheraccounts on August 4, 2018.

The same video was shared on March 14, 2016, on Mynet news website with the claim that Trump was afraid when a woman screamed during his speech.

However, the claim that the video shows Trump’s reaction when someone said “Allahu Akbar” during his speech is not true. The video shows Donald Trump’s reaction to an anti-Trump protestor jumping into the stage during his rally in Ohio’s Dayton city on March 12, 2016.

The video is taken from 2016 election rallies

To begin with, when paid attention, it is not possible to hear anyone from the crowd saying “Allahu Akbar” during Trump’s speech. Later, the plate on the dais attracts attention where it reads as “Text TRUMP to 88022”. This indicates the phone line which was allocated to the election campaign fund. It is also possible to see the slogan “Make America Great Again” on the plate. This way it is possible to infer that the video belongs to the election period in 2016.

The same plate was used throughout all the speeches Trump gave during the 2016 election campaign, by changing the states’ names.

It is possible to reach a version of the same video shot from a different angle on YouTube. On the 14. second of Trump’s speech, it is seen that a person tries to get on the stage and is fended off by Trump’s security detail. The whole of the Dayton rally footage can be found on a YouTube channel named Trump TV Network.

The event from a different camera angle

American broadcast channel ABC has mentioned the incident on a news piece on March 12, 2016. According to it, the person trying to get on the stage was an anti-Trump protestor named Thomas Dimassimo. The same news piece includes photos taken during secret service’s arresting Dimassimo.

BBC and NBC have also given place to the incident in their news broadcast on March 12, 2016.

It is seen on Independent’s correspondent Will Worley’s news article that Dimassimo was arrested with the charges of disorderly conduct and inducing panic. Worley expresses that Colombus correspondent Chris Famiano witnessed the incident.

Similar incidents happened during Trump’s rallies

The violent incidents during the mentioned rally caused Chicago rally to be postponed. It is possible to see on CNN’s news piece dated November 6, 2016, that similar incidents happened during Donald Trump’s rally on November 6 and the secret service prevented it from escalating.
