Served as the capital of three great empires, Istanbul hides many secrets that might shed light on its past.

These secrets have long inspired myths circulating in its streets for ages.

Just like the one that is about the lost treasure of the Byzantine Empire in the Golden Horn. The treasure that the Japanese supposedly tried to steal in 1980s.

Did the last Byzantine emperor Constantine XI’s ship full of gold sink in the Golden Horn during the conquest of Constantinople in 1453? Did the Japanese offer to clean up the Golden Horn in return for the lost treasure hidden underneath water in 1980s? Did treasure hunters really find the hidden treasure, melt 50 tons of gold and sold all of them in 2010s?
