On April 27, 2020, the Pentagon shared a press release titled 'Announcement on the Release of Navy Videos'. The Ministry of Defense states that it allows the release of three naval videos in 2004 and 2015, which were non-classified. The Ministry defines them as “unidentified” because the objects in the videos cannot be identified, confirming that the objects in the video are UFOs. However, the term UFO does not mean that the object belongs to extraterrestrial life, but that it simply "cannot be identified".

These videos were shared in 2007 and 2017 without the permission of the ministry and also appeared on news sites. The U.S. Department of Defense also acceptedthese videos. The reason for the re-appearing of the videos is that the ministry does extensive research on videos and does not see any danger. The videos can be seen on the Naval Air Systems Command website.

Videos are old dated. One of the videos consists of a video recorded during the naval exercise in 2004. It appears that there are unidentified objects entering the radar of a battleship called USS Princeton. With the request of Princeton to help, videos of unidentified objects caught by the Super Hornet aircraft in 2004 appeared. These videos were featured in The New York Times in 2017, and aircraft pilots David Fravor and Jim Slaight explained how the videos came out.

The other two videos of unidentified objects were recorded in 2015. It is known that the US Navy recorded the footage near Florida. The videos shot by the navy pilots were captured by the camera of the Super Hornet and show some flying objects. Pilot Ryan Grave gave an interview to The New York Times in 2019 and said he saw objects similar to the ball but still could not identify the objects.

Every object seen in the sky that cannot be identified in any way is called UFO. These objects do not necessarily mean an extra-terrestrial being. There are many objects that have been identified as UFOs but they were discovered to be other objects.

Claims about unidentified objects in the sky have been often heard for many years. There is even an official investigation program carried out by the US army between 1949 and 1967 to investigate UFO events: Project Blue Book. By this project, it was tried to investigate the events in the air scientifically and determine whether they pose a national security threat. However, almost all of the cases in the study were air balloons, shapes formed by natural gases, meteorological events. The idea that UFOs belong to aliens and they came to the world from a different life has been covered in some magazines and movies with the effect of Hollywood in the USA.

In conclusion, the claim is true. Pentagon, the U.S. Department of Defense, posted outdated videos with unidentified objects on its website.
