Our collaboration with EMSA Turkey (European Community of Medical Students), which is not based on any financial relationship, aims to combat health disinformation. In this context, with the contributions of medical students, we have prepared a “1-2-3 Tıp” video series in which we explain the medical terms that should be included in our daily lives with a focus on protecting ourselves against misinformation. Our videos in which we talked about the false information about Covid-19 were published on Habertürk in April, May, and June 2020 as part of the non-financial agreement we made with Ciner Group. Since November 1, 2019, videos prepared by the Teyit team on urban legends, falsehoods on issues related to public health, and fact-checking tips have been broadcast on Modyo TV screens, which broadcast on 7,600 screens on public transport in Istanbul. Since September 2020, they have appeared on city screens and screens on public transport in Ankara.
Through collaborations, we aim to draw attention to the misinformation problem on public transport in Istanbul and Ankara and help people develop critical digital literacy skills.
Project Zoomis a grant program announced in 2020, aimed at uncovering, making visible, and telling social issues that have been overlooked or unseen by content producers in different media, such as a new generation of storytellers and journalists aiming to tell their stories. We have undertaken the ecosystem partnership as a part of the program, which focuses on climate change, gender equality, sustainability, migration, social innovation, and energy themes.
